Training

We offer in-person training for North Carolina security guard licensing—unarmed and armed—as well as advanced courses including De-escalation, Safe Restraint, Handle With Care, Taser, OC/Chemical Spray, and more. Joshua Ruiz

Joshua Ruiz

Director of Operations

Joshua Ruiz joined Blue Life Security, LLC in January 2025. With over 16 years in the security industry and 6 years at the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office in NC, Joshua brings extensive leadership experience. He previously served as Major of a Public Safety and Company Police Agency in Charlotte, NC, overseeing field operations, training, dispatch, hiring, and business development. Joshua graduated from the Police & Science Institute in Fresno, California, with a degree in Criminal Justice Studies. He holds multiple instructor certifications, including Unarmed & Armed Trainer from the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board, USCCA Instructor, and certifications in First Aid & CPR, Taser use, and defensive shooting. He is also a licensed Armed Security Officer in North and South Carolina. As the State Director for North Carolina, Joshua manages business development, hiring and retention, training, leadership development, and administrative functions.
